Don’t Leave Me.Org is a civic engagement legacy project founded by adjunct professor Debra L. Nolen for her Health Care Ethics Course, while teaching at Chandler Gilbert Community College, Spring 2015.
Don’t Leave Me.Org. fosters an exercise in civic engagement and social responsibility through a simple straight forward message - One dog left in a hot car to die is one dog too many.
Professor Nolen strongly believes knowledge translates into action and action leads to long term community involvement - Don’t Leave Me.Org cultivates a sense of social responsibility through animal advocacy increasing the likelihood of an informed and engaged citizenry.
Built on the principle of empathy, Professor Nolen is grateful to have the shared aims of a growing network of sponsors, affiliates, advisers and most important former students as they take Don’t Leave Me. Org out of the classroom.
Don’t Leave Me.Org has gone from an class civics project to a sustainable 501 C 3 Non Profit that educates the public about the dangers of hot cars in particular, but events that can and will impact our pets and the families who care for them.
